A local four piece rock band, from Windsor, Ontario. It may be their
second year only together, but the band has a history. Three of the four
members played in Mescaline Ritual some years back; then drummer
Rob Butler joined the scene during the creation of Indica Strain. Doug
Breault, lead vocalist and bassist for Indica Strain explains: "The
music we do now is totally different than in Mescaline Ritual. I used
to play guitar, we got a different drummer, the sound is a lot heavier,
and there's is alot more feedback between members when writing the songs.
I was stuck doing the writing before, but when everyone is contributing,
it makes the songs better." Guitar player, Dean Cusinato uses an industrial
strength wawa pedal, accentuating Cusinato's bluesy-rock style. They've
been compared to Echo and The Bunnymen, the Doors, and even been called
"prehistoric wanker rock" but the band avoids the labels, preferring
to consider it "real smokin' musical enjoyment". The music is
loud, high-energy, frenetic at times, with sudden stops and starts. Sometimes
the audience claps before the song is over. This is a real band to look
out for, so keep your eyes peeled.
